What is the difference between a general visitor visa based on?

A partnership based Visitor Visa is granted when all the partnership requirements are met. However, in case of cultural Indian weddings, one of the partnership requirements of living together are generally not met if the applicant and their partner in NZ have been recently married and the NZ partner left for NZ soon after the wedding. In such cases, If the case officer is satisfied that there is a genuine and stable relationship, they may decide to issue a General Visitor Visa, so as to allow the applicant to travel to NZ in order to live with their partner and met all the requirements for a partnership based Visa (Visitor or Work).
